Abstract

A solution for routing flood waves in natural watercourses is presented in this article. An implicit numerical approach is applied to solve the Saint Venant equations through the use of the finite difference method. As a distinctive feature of the proposed methodology, both the numerical solution and its visualization within a CAD environment are developed. This approach seeks to take advantage of the capabilities offered by AutoCAD software, widely validated worldwide through its long-standing use and reliability.
