Sistema de Iluminación Pública Inteligente de Código Abierto Diseño, Implementación y Validación Experimental de un Sistema IoT Adaptativo

Resumo

El alumbrado público representa entre el 20 % y el 40 % del consumo eléctrico municipal en América Latina (Carvajal et al., 2024) y aproximadamente el 25 % del gasto eléctrico del sector público argentino (Secretaría de Energía de la Nación, 2022). La mayoría de las redes operan sin control adaptativo ni monitoreo remoto. Este artículo presenta el diseño, la implementación y la validación experimental de un sistema de iluminación urbana inteligente de código abierto, desarrollado en el marco del PID LPENPP668 (UTN - CODAPLI). El sistema integra nodos ESP32 con sensores PIR y LDR, firmware MicroPython con cuatro niveles de operación, comunicación MQTT sobre Wi-Fi y una plataforma de supervisión en tiempo real. Se comparan tres estrategias de transmisión —periódica, por eventos y adaptativa por reglas— bajo condiciones controladas. El tráfico de red se redujo un 89,1 % y un 93,1 % respecto de la transmisión periódica, manteniendo un comportamiento funcional equivalente. La dimensión energética se aborda mediante un indicador funcional derivado de los tiempos por nivel, que verifica dicha equivalencia pero no constituye una medición eléctrica directa. El trabajo aporta evidencia experimental sobre el impacto de las estrategias de comunicación en sistemas IoT de alumbrado, una dimensión frecuentemente ignorada en la literatura.
